WELCOME BACK TO TERM FOUR

We have started Term 4 by having loads of fun!  Yesterday a group of kids made ANZAC biscuits.  They were delicious!

We also had a Rich Task for Maths to complete.  Mrs Ruawai got us to make up our very own Computational Thinking maze.  We had to come up with a character and either avoid characters or collect tokens.  We then got someone else to write the code to solve the challenge.  We
had a blast!

FRIDAY OPT IN - COOKING

Today some our kids opted in to making Fruit Kebabs!
We each brought some fruit to share and Mrs Lunn brought the marshmallows!

Mrs Lunn cut up the fruit and we had to assemble the fruit sticks using skewers.  We had to be super careful with the sharp end of the skewer.

We had a great time!

FRIDAY'S COOKING OPT-IN - SMOOTHIES

Friday rolls around pretty fast in Piako Rua.
We don't mind though because Friday means COOKING!!!

Mrs Lunn helped us to make smoothies.  We each brought along some fruit to share and Mrs Lunn cut it up for us.  Then we got to choose what fruit we wanted in our smoothie.  There was so much to choose from!

Then we made our own smoothie and you can probably tell from our smoothie moustaches - they tasted delicious!

COOKING OPT IN - MAKING WAFFLES

Friday - our new favourite day!

Friday is the day that we have our opt-ins.  At the start of each term we sign up for Art, Cooking, and Science and Technology workshops.  This was we can opt in to what interests us.  It gives us a choice on what we want to learn about.

This week, the cooking opt-in was making WAFFLES!  The children had to measure the ingredients correctly and to follow the recipe exactly.  The waffles were a big success!

The other kids are eagerly awaiting next week to see what we are cooking next week!
