HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISALEI

This is Isalei.  We celebrated her birthday on the last day of school, even though her birthday was the next day.  Isalei is proud of her Samoan culture.  We honoured her by getting her up the front and having Ms Udy singing Happy Birthday in Samoan.  Then we all clapped her seven claps while Ms Udy counted out loud in Samoan.  Isalei thought it was fantastic.

CULTURAL DAY AT RIVERDALE SCHOOL

On Friday we celebrated the diverse cultures that we have at Riverdale School and in our community.  We had lots of visitors come in to see us and talk about where they are from.  We all got to dress up in our traditional clothing, or clothing that represents a country.  It was a great day learning about people from all over the world.

We had Massey University Fire and Circus come and perform for us and the Monrad Tirohanga Pacifica group come to sing for us too.

Look what Mr Pike has been learning to do!  DO NOT try this at home kids!
