SCIENCE OPT IN - WHAT PLANTS NEED

Ms Udy helped some of us set up a science experiment today. First, we watched a video of a bean plant growing from a seed. It grew really fast, and we learnt that in just 25 days, a seed can create a whole plant! Here is the video for you to see:

We started talking about what a seed needs to make it grow. We decided to test what would happen if we gave our plant no water, no heat, or no light. We worked in pairs and prepared some seeds, then put them around our classroom - on sunny windowsills, in a cupboard, and even in the fridge!

We will water them every couple of days (except the one that gets no water!),  check on them and write down how they have grown. Here are our predictions of how each will grow.
