DIGITAL CIRCUS

On Friday Miss Westcott from Digital Circus came to school.  Some of us got to the Hall to learn about Algorithms.  Algorithms are basically a list of instructions for a computer.  We got to play some coding games with Miss Westcott.

  

FRIDAY'S OPT-INS

We were SOOOO busy on Friday.

Mrs Ruawai made Chocolate Chip muffins with us and Mrs Lunn took us for Art.  Miss Smith was busy with the Enviroclub too.

The Coffee Cats art got hung up today.  Feel free to pop in and have a look.

For Art, Mrs Lunn helped us make our Field of Poppies artwork.  They look beautiful...

KEEPING OURSELVES SAFE - FEELINGS

Today we talked about our emotions and feelings.  

We concentrated on thinking about what our faces would look like when we are showing emotion. 

We could have a look at this video with you at home... we could watch this and try and read their emotions.

OUR PEPEHA

Today Ms Udy talked to Piako Rua about our Pepeha.  This is an introduction which is in the format of a 'story' of the people and places you are connected to.

A sheet is coming home today for you to help us complete our pepeha.  It's about  down the names of some of the landmarks from where we are from. 

Please note:  if your family did not come over in a waka, you can insert the name of the ship or the airline, if you know it.  It's all about how your family got to New Zealand.

KEEPING OURSELVES SAFE - LOST

Today we watched a video about Brian and Bobby.  Brian is a Policeman and Bobby is his Police dog.  In the video Bobby gets lost.  The video talks about what we need to do if we get lost.

After the video we broke into small groups and we had to think about what we do when we get lost.  There are four steps to remember...

1. Stay Calm!
2. Find someone to help us
3. Tell them where we last saw our family
4. Tell them our name, address and phone number

You might like to talk to us about the video and get us to tell you who could help us if we get lost.

Please help us to practice our Name, Address and Phone number - it is REALLY important that we know it!
