ROCK PICUTRES
What a busy day we had today. Not only was it Wig Wednesday and Grandparents' Day ... we had Isalei's mum and Nanny come in and help us make some rock art!We had to put little pebbles on our boards to make them into pictures. Every single one was different and unique.
We can't wait to show them to you at the expo!

OUR NEW MURAL
Over the last few weeks, you may have seen our new mural taking shape.
It has been fascinating for the kids to watch it develop into the AMAZING work of art that it is!
We have two more murals commissioned to be done at school over the next few weeks.
There will be a takahe and a kakapo coming soon.
So exciting!

INQUIRY - ART EXHIBITION
On Tuesday we got a letter from Mrs Peck. She has noticed all our beautiful art hanging in our classroom. She would like us to put on an Art Exhibition later this term. She made us a deal that she would write the invitations if we make the art.
We said we would LOVE to! We were HOOKED!
First we needed to take some time to WONDER about all the things that we need to do to be able to put on the exhibition.
We went into our Whanau groups and recorded all our thoughts and ideas. Then we came back together to share our thinking.
Over the next few weeks, we will be learning different art techniques and making some amazing pieces of art.

ART OPT-INS
It was a hive of activity in Wonderland on Friday. There were kids busy finishing pieces of Art they have been working on over the last few weeks.
Look at these CREATIVE artists in action...
Children were also working on making their Bubbly Hydrangeas artwork. We put dye and water and some dishwashing liquid in the sink. Then we had to blow bubbles in the dye and carefully lie the paper on top of the bubbles to make the hydrangea print. Once the red was dry, we did the same with purple dye. When the dye dries we will glue leaves onto our pictures.

FRIDAY'S ART OPT-IN
We love the different opt ins on offer on Fridays. This week Mrs Lunn took the kids who wanted to learn how to use vivid and dye to draw a pirate ship. The kids listened carefully to the instructions and each created nothing short of a masterpiece!
